For My Friend
By Rainna
Where are you going? Where might life lead you? Before you go, I just want to say I'll miss you. All these days we've had together, Throughout my life I will treasure. Through the good times and the bad, You're the best friend I've ever had. Well you and I have done our talking, But now you better get to walking. There are new opportunites for you ahead, And I don't want to find you lazing in bed! So go on. Get out there. Make a good life. Please do not become a docile housewife. So, so long, farewell, adieu, Goodbye, goodluck, I'll miss you. This was written for my friend, Dorothy, who was graduating and leaving for college soon. She helped shape who I am and she saved my butt too many times to count. I hope you like this poem as much as she did. Written December 29th, 2001 © on Dec 28 2001 06:11 PM PST, Rainna Stock 0 • 14
