Ancient scriptures Words so wise Yet the whole damn religion Is shrouded in lies A book of opinions Many base their lives on A book written thousands of years ago Is now just a con The "Good Book" they call it Though to me it's mostly bad Full of contradictions and deceit These verses make me mad How dare you tell me who to like Who to hang out with, who to talk to Gay people, girls who've had abortions Are they not human to you? God is very loving Yet all Christians do is hate People with different beliefs or morals Against them you discriminate Go to Church or go to Hell My choises are quiet slim But MY God is not judgemental You'd believe me if you really knew him Church is not a sacred place Or one for quiet contemplation But a scam for the trustworthy A way to make money from adoration To get you there on Sunday They strike fear in your heart Coughing up cash out of guilt It happens to even the smart But MY God doesn't care What I think about Church What I think about gays What I think about abortion MY God loves me for who I amJune 2000, What can I say?
