Outcast
By Riverette
She sits in the corner Concealed in darkness The only mourner At her own funeral Crying these tears With no shoulder to lean on Her hopes and her fears Bottled up inside Bad or good She gets her attention I'd help her if I could But is there anything I can do? She is an outcast Hated by all If only I could erase her past Give her a fresh start All she needs is someone Someone to love her Someone to need her Someone to listen to her So for a short period of my day I stop and chat with her Soon she turns and looks my way I think I can see her smile I get strange looks as people pass They point and coldly laugh For all I care they can kiss my ass I don't care at all what they think She could be helped tomorrow Because of what I said today Now gone is all her sorrow From a cordial greeting Yesterday she was ready to die But now she's pulled back from the edge From a word such as "hi" This girl has been saved Written June 1st, 2000 © on Jan 05 2002 03:52 PM PST 0 • 1
