Freedom's beginning
By rmerwin
As his great hands finished removing the training wheels the seat was the only thing left a small adjustment, then off we'd go to a life full of freedoms limitless. I remember him holding the sissy bar assuring me I was okay certain he's right there behind me steady I ride on my way I look over my shoulder to see him knowing he's holding me safe my heart jumps, he's in the yard cheering I remember the look on his face. My mother was jumping and screaming Go Ricky, you're doing great I remember how much it meant to us all I'm still thankful for that time today. In that moment, I was free for the first time. I could go anywhere do anything. Maybe even fly. Written December 17th, 2001 © on Dec 16 2001 06:25 PM PST, Rick Merwin 0 • 10
