The awkward state of mind
By rmerwin
Forgiveness is an awkward state of mind. A revelation of insight that allows us to identify our disinvolvement in the wrong doings of others. This is difficult in itself, but the most important forgiveness, is that which we give ourselves. I remember the drugs vividly, the alcohol, the sex... those indicators of how low my self-esteem had gone, or could go. To those new levels, of new lows, that I somehow just had to drag myself to. So then, the question. How does one unconditionally forgive oneself. I suppose the answer is simple. Forgive those that you percieve to have included you in their own wrong doing, and forgive yourself for doing the same to others. The concept is simple, the application, a bit more of a challenge. So wish me luck in my quest here and, of course, forgive the intrusion. Thanks, RickJust a thought Written February 6th, 2002 © on Feb 05 2002 06:16 PM PST, Rick Merwin 0 • 10
