The true 'we'
By rmerwin
At the core of all these scribblings lie the truths of who we are the poets and the people their triumphs and their scars Listen to the voices as they drift throughout this place and try to link ideas to each person, to each face I see you as you are not as you look, or want to be Your work paints different pictures of the you you ought to be. I recognize you by your words, each and every one of you, unique, but one. I feel you. You are wonderful, and you, combined, represent the society in which I desire to reside. So I wonder, are there so few of us that we cannot collaborate in the streets? Or are we each so guarded in our lives and our beings, that no one knows who we really are, as individuals, and as a people? How many people in our lives really know who we are? More importantly, how many people in our lives do we not really know? All comments welcome. Written April 10th, 2002 © on Apr 09 2002 06:21 PM PST, Rick Merwin 0 • 10
