God's Biggest Headache

By Rose Patrick

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

God was sitting one day, When He decided to make a new friend. So He made the most beautiful angel, He called this new angel Son of the Morning Star. He named him Lucifer. He is Diablo, He is Agamemnon, He is The Evil One, But to us, he’s just the Devil, Or that old serpent himself, Satan. He is the most charming and intelligent Out of all the angels He would make. This one was the best of the best… All the other angels said so. They would say “Satan you are the best, You are the most beautiful and the most charming.” So it became his way of thinking, That he would think so too… He grew to think he was the best, To think he was the most beautiful, To think he was the most charming. Until the day he decided to tell God That he was the best of the best. He told God, “Hey look old Man It is time for you to move over And make way for the best of the best And that’s me, old Man. “I am the best of the best, I am the smartest, even smarter than You, Far more beautiful, than You, Far more charming, than You, So it is time You to move over, And make way for the best, And that’s me.” God said “You are right… You are the best of the best That I God have made. You are the most beautiful That I God have made. You are the most charming That I God have made. “Therefore, I won’t unmake you, The most beautiful… I won’t unmake you, The most charming… I won’t unmake you… The smartest, Of them all… “Instead I will give you The Earth as your own, Till time ends or, at least, as mankind thinks, There you will be able to see what you are With man kind… “See if they will all think so See if you can turn My people Away form Me with your charm. See if you can turn My people Away from Me with your beauty. “Till the time of time comes Then it will be My turn I will send My Son, To give My people heart; To give My people strength; To give My people forgiveness; To give My people a way Out of your mess… “Oh! Satan, You who I made The most beautiful, You who I made The most Charming, You who I made The smartest of all I have made. “Oh! Satan, You are the Biggest Pain in My rear That was ever made. You are the Biggest headache That was ever made.” © Rose Patrick 2002 All Rights Reserved Written March 29th, 2002 © on Mar 29 2002 11:09 AM PST   0 • 12
