The Most Precious Gift
By Rose Patrick
I had a friend, Who gave her all… With little knick-knacks, And sometimes with just a smile… I never knew how precious these gifts could be, Until the day, She sent me the most precious gift of all. Time had parted us, Even more than distance… Unknown to me, She had joined heaven’s ranks. Even so, She still sent me the most precious gift of all. Something to care for, To love, and to watch grow… What is this gift, you may ask… 65 pounds of bouncing beauty, And charm, that makes one’s heart sing, Her daughter, for me to raise… A true gift from the heart, She had sent me from heaven above, Something I will cherish, Till the end of my days… May she give me the wisdom and strength, To do right by this precious gift. © Rose Patrick March 28,2002 All Rights Reserved\ *a gift from Heaven Written March 28th, 2002 © on Mar 28 2002 02:14 AM PST 0 • 10 • 8
