A death wish

A beautiful sunset stays in view The orange, yellow, and pinkish hue You sit alone on the sandy shore Wishing for the days before The angels sing from up above Showering you with feelings of love Your health is fading day by day Only doctors can find a way Death seems closer with each day You know not much longer on earth will you stay Sleep is now a thing of the past You want to make your final days last They’re not quite sure what’s causing you to be ill They’ve already tried every pill You would rather have death come to you Then sit in pain when the days are new You hear the children playing outside How you long to be there with them to guide You understand how god has reason in his way But how you wish you could just stay And be healthy again, searching for reason Watching the snow fall with the new season You warp yourself with your coat snug And walk off at the pace of a slug Enjoying Earth’s beauty while you’re still here Somehow brings peace and cheer How you wish you could tell everyone in this world Come out of your homes, don’t lay there all curled When your hiding yourself within your home You can’t see the sunshine and miracles shown Every day is a gift, you’ve been shown If only earlier you would have known But now as you walk down the street All the people you have yet to meet To tell them your sorrowful story Hoping to teach, not make them feel sorry Perhaps the message you wish most to go on Never give up and keep yourself strongDon't know, was watching a show about someone who was ill and tried t put it into words..
