Among the Stars (A Challenge Poem)
By SilentWolf
While we live our lives here on earth Out in space there is a grand birth A hatchie slowly peeks out of his shell There's fire all over, but this is no hell His first feast of his life is the goo that surrounds him This is the way it is, and always has been His two tiny wings are not of much use But soon the young dragon will with them find muse His meeps loudly echo around cavern walls Outside it is heard, mother and father return calls Meeping happily at the sight of them he trembles with glee They help him out of the shell knowing he is the key He scatters about as his parents stay close This would be the one who is treasured the most All the dragons hear a loud horn And all of them know the new prince has been born They gather around, the little one cries He hides behind his parents and fear fills his eyes His mother nudges him out from beneath her All around the dragons know him for sure This tiny silver dragon has the mark of the one For upon his scaled hide is a bright golden sun He yawns a small yawn, curls up tiredly To a baby dragon the biggest struggle is getting free His belly is full and he shall be watched over For they know the young prince will be their lucky clover So Clover he was dubbed, as the dragons flew free Around the hidden planet that no earthling could see They knew that soon enough their time would come When they would join the people of earth again as one The knights may have killed many, but they never could destroy The power and might of one little boy Who upon his own doing took a dragon's egg home Which he nurtured and cared for until it had flown Then looking at the sky, knowing the safest place He told it to fly at a very fast pace Up into the sky where it could live a full life Not having to worry about being slain with a knight's knife Then as the dragon produced a golden ray More dragons came and held safe in it's bay The river of stars shone brightly above And the dragon never forgot the boy's love The young prince dragon must go and make haste To where the great grandson of the boy was placed There he would find the key to peace And man would no longer call dragons a beast So right now as earth goes about, and the pure water gleams The young dragon, Clover flies soundly in dreamsThis is a challenge poem I have written today. I don't know extreame information on Dragons, but I am slowly learning. Hope you like it :) Written February 8th, 2002 © on Feb 08 2002 08:01 AM PST 0 • 12
