Captor of the Storm
By SilentWolf
Wind whistles through the night Calling spirits all around Snow flies through the ebony sky Gathering in mounds around a dark figure Curled up in the snow against the wailing wind A wolf lies, bright eyes glowing It stands slowly anchoring it's paws firmly Looking out over the land that is now covered The forest seems desolate and quiet As all inhabitants seek shelter from the storm All the powers of nature gather together Inpowering the spirit of the wind Sending more snow flying through the air The wolf stands unmoving, not a muscle twitches Winds swirl around it's face It's eyes remain open, unblinking A rage hits the storm and sends piles of snow from on trees Falling to the ground in huge bunches Not a sound comes from the wolf Nature's fury grows sending ice shreds through the air Going in between the fur and stinging the skin The wolf still stands, not so much as one hair moves The wind confused and growing even more angry hurls itself Into the body and soul of the wolf trying to defeat it Chilling to the bone the creature that stands As if a challenge to the mighty wind and snow Yet he still stands, without a sound undying The wind gets weary, slows it's pace and the snow falls peacefully All look out to see what the fight was The wolf moves, eyes glare into the sky It releases a howl sending the last snowflakes to the ground The spirit of the storm throws itself at the mercy Of the creature who stood against it In the darkest hour, in the most painful place The wolf once again Is the captor of the storm*laughs* I have captured storms such as this in the past... just a thought Written February 19th, 2002 © on Feb 19 2002 12:40 AM PST 0 • 13
