Ramblings of a Wizard Part One Ansh'lo Mar Ictar -Defiance of Ictar- Amid the endless halls of eternity I’m left to contemplate over Within my head of those Events and tales during my long life For the things I have seen Had scarred my eyes and burned My mind within, and to see them In my youth, often forced my stomach to heave And during my time of contemplation As I sat amid the Ancient Halls of death, I saw a form like a hawk Dressed in dragon’s skin, and a beak like bronze Sera-sún, or the great winged terror An arbiter of death, who guarded the High peaks of Zonra’shul, within the Sacred ranges of Braum, holy creator of all Yet, how I came to see this Great beast who stood as tall As thirty grown men, was that a cult of men Sought immortality through Sera-sún sparkling flesh I, at the time, was a young wizard Who sought adventure, and offered the right price In gold, would follow even a cult of fools Deep within the Sacred Lands And on that foolish day, as the golden sun Rose, hardly clearing the southern mountain peaks We set out, twenty in number And so the company was: Fifteen warriors of Marzog Two priests of Penlee Ictar, chosen and loved of Lylrin, and Two wizards bought by gold All men and power seeking fools Set out, heading north to the Sacred peaks of Zonra’shul Seeking the great immortal guardian, Sera-sún. Twelve days passed, and eleven nights visited Until we reached the vast sea, known as The Sacred Gate, for beyond the Gate lied the Sacred Lands of Braum, holy creator Here Anlo and Prell sat at the waters edge Praying of their ‘plight’ to their goddess, Penlee, and said “Oh, great goddess of the seas and deep waters A foe in the untouched lands, has done our families wrong Please, grant us passage through the watery Gate So we may avenge our families, and bring further Praise to you, Penlee, gorgeous beyond all under the seas.” And as they pleaded, the Gate spread open her watery doors Gasps had escaped all lips, as the water hurled herself Up from the golden floor, and made a long passage Reaching to the horizon, to the untouched lands Of our destination Zonra’shul, and so we went As we walked, between the great pillars of Sparkling water, swaying as a snake does before a threat The golden ground released a sweet lamentation of Ages long passed, which seemed to null our senses And mid way through, the Doors of the Gate, a Voice rose up from behind, spurring all to turn, and As we did, the immortal form of Basi, son of Penlee, Stepped out of the watery walls and gazed down our path At this moment, I still tremble, for the wrath Of the gods is not something one takes lightly Even if sitting within the Ancient Halls, and so As we stood, Basi did speak out in his rage and said “Anlo and Prell, liars among men and fools! Spinning Words of deceit to fool my great and beautiful mother, Ah, but did you false priests expect to fool both within The immortal line? For the aid you have tricked her into performing I will make it your death, and so it shall be!” As I heard him speak those last words, his great Blue hands reached into the pillars and pulled Within a roaring horrible sound, the watery walls Came tumbling down, much akin to the sound when The ground shakes and quakes, sending all in the Company to their knees, but one Ictar, chosen and loved of Lylrin, remained afoot And turned forward to our destination, speaking An incantation which matched the sound of the Quaking waters, as they fell And to our destination the waters flew up from the sea Opening fully our destination, and Basi fumed with rage Seeping into the golden earth, and cursed it, turning it Into a soft and sinking ground, sucking the fallen men in Curses rose up from the company, including I, and we All regained our footing, as best as one can do amid sinking Mud, yet we could not move, and as we sunk a growl came From Ictar, as he reached into a pouch and removed a plant A Minyar, a flower from the realms of the gods, a gift to Him from Lylrin, and holding the Minyar into the air He spoke words that seemed to spin about the entire company Gripping us firmly and pulled us up into the air, free of the floor Speaking another sharp command and pointing to the shore We flew swiftly through the air, hearing the great roar of Basi Behind as he slammed the waters down and about themselves And so we finally approached, the Untouched LandsWell...ah..shrug. This is just a small tale using the gods and some of the men from my own realm I created...hehe, it goes on further tho ;) Just didn't want it to be thrown up all on one page...hehe.
