High Above(Surv challenge 5)
By Simonic
I rest high above the dirtied ground, Free from the mire of this dark earth Able to sway gently within the unseen winds My life, is the life of the earth, and I Am that which gives the world life, as They gasp me in, ignorant to my existence. From season to season, I reside upon a wooden Vein, a stick of life that provides me with Both food and drink, nutrition to the nutrients. And as I sway high above the dirtied lands, I hear A growling sound, and see in the distance a large Yellow thing, plow into my sacred lands. Screaming I ask them to stop, my hosts veins Crying in pain, until finally that yellow creature Approached my life giver, and began to rip. I ached inside, as I felt the strong and powerful Steel dig into my giver of life, and in defiance It groaned, until finally giving up his deep roots. Slowly, my world darkened, as the warm day’s air Passed through my face as I saw the dirtied ground Approach nearer, until finally I rest amid the muck. I now lie, a dying leaf amid the industrial waste of A once proud forest, now a industrial plant, but my Death will not be in vain, for my life isn’t over. For as I begin to seep into the ground, the nutrients Which once bade me life, are now drunken in by the Once dirtied soil, now flourishing with green grass.'tis a leaf....yeah.... :\ Written April 3rd, 2002 © on Apr 03 2002 05:36 AM PST 0 • 10
