Scorching Torment
By Simonic
I fell before you Dropping to my knees Holding on to your legs As tears streamed down Things about me shattered My life, fallen I, had fallen Now at the your feet Begging for help Your help Your life To be with you again You spoke But I did not understand I did But didn’t want to Your hand touched my cheeks Wiped away tears Tilted my head to look at you Searing pain, burns Your eyes aflame Your touch like fire Burning through my skin My life How did this come to be That I fell before you Begging and crying Only to have you burn so bad I wanted to be with you I loved you Truly loved Not falsely Tried I did Gave I did Loved I did Died I did Only to be burned By your scorching touch Rising pain Tortured upon my kneesI wrote this referring to the night I emotionally crumpled, and finally realized that I was never going to be with the girl. A year of being together, then a year being her best friend, then half a year struggling to be back with her. Love burns. And if you read many of my poems, I do not use 'death' in the normal sense often. That was a mix up in an older poem of mine. Written September 9th, 2001 © on Sep 14 2001 07:28 PM PST 0 • 8
