Thunder's Crash
By Simonic
The night is dark The clouds are low Yet, are high This world is dark To the east The wind blows To the north The wind howls To the south The wind screams To the west The wind roars All winds Hit me With tremendous force Yet, I stand Stand against it all Oh, how longer may I stand? Stand against the torrent of winds Yet, to fall It would sweep me up Away from my point The point where I stand The point, I live It all hits me The winds never cease What am I to do? The clouds swirl In confusion I am confused They gleam with that eerie glow The glow of the mad What is mad? Who is mad? My shell is stripped The shell no longer matters Yet, I stand Stand against the winds Knowing there is no gain Upon the flesh Oh, Storm! How much longer will you last? I am losing my footing Swaying in confusion Blinded by everything The wind drys my eyes I am blind My muscles are wore Yet, somehow I stand Images hit my blind eyes I see them All of them They are falling Against this great wind Am I to remain Or fall as they? Why have I not fallen? I no longer feel my feet Are they even there? How am I to know I can not see Nor can I feel any longer What is that sound? The sound that’s heard Over the winds? It’s the sound of thunder Rolling in from all sides The sound is deafening I think I cover my ears Yet, I continue to hear Hear it’s violet crashes Terror fills my numb shell It approaches The Thunder It strikes No longer do I ache The wind has stopped The cries and howls Gone The loud noises Gone I can see and feel I can rest Now, my legs give way And I fall upon these Apparently golden stones Feeling their warm and cool touch Sending me into a rest A rest of bliss I survived the storm Now, I may rest Written March 1st, 2001 © on Sep 14 2001 08:08 PM PST 0 • 13
