The Princess' Ring
By Smeagol
Once upon a time in the land of Metosh Lived a young Princess named Aprilspring Her favorite thing in the entire world Was her Angel carved magical ring The ring was a bright golden hue With Angel wings of purest white Aprilspring never took it off Except when she slept at night Then she would place her beloved ring In a magical heart shaped box That was given to her by her father the King One with no need of lids or locks But alas trouble did come to the young Princess Her treasure one morning was missing Her magical box lay broken upon the floor And no sign anywhere of the ring The kingdom was searched both high and low The King vowed the ring he would find He rode throughout all of the land And came to the home of the goblin kind There he did search the evil woods And at last found the great Goblin King And resting upon the goblin's long finger Was his daughter's Angel carved ring The two kings did battle that day And on into the dark and evil night And with the returning of the Sun The victor rode away at first light To the castle rode the victorous King And to the Princess did he return "I've got your ring, I've killed your father And now I'm afraid it's your turn!"A drive-by poem written in 15 minutes Written January 22nd, 2002 © on Jan 22 2002 10:01 AM PST 0 • 10
