Rainy day (thinking of Liz)
By sneaker
Bundled passers-by, hunkered in their long coats, are blind to the gentle curves of her face mirrored by the streams running down the windows. I stare out into the rain. Water spills from the rooftops like the hair from her shoulders. Streetlamps make the splashing water sparkle, but all I see is the light in her eyes Her laughter echoes through the roof as the windswept deluge pounds down. Her sweet perfume rises from the rain soaked desert as the storm finally passes. Winter's rains mock my sorrow and drown my desire. No longer parting have I endured. These four weeks are darkest lament How long 'till we are together again?Started during a short parting, when it was raining, and extrapolated to anticipate a longer parting. I miss her already.
