This Love

I sit and ponder on the gift of love you gave so generouslyHow freely it flows, and yet how tenderly it reaches out to meA love that renews my mind and my soul setting both  freeMy thoughts wander aimlessly to the glory that it bestowsUpon this mortal woman, who was born for immortalityThis love is a mystery, given to I, who deserves it notWinding its way into a lost and lonely heart here insideTouching places hidden and bringing to them a libertyGiving life and bringing peace, a love whose gift is freeSo underserved, but craved by this needy, wanting womanI sit and contemplate upon the sacrifices that love asksIt calls for unselfish giving, and a seemingly selfless livingA cost that is not to be asked, a debt that cannot be paidThis woman born to die, yet because of this love will liveLove so amazing so divine, demands all that I can giveMysterious it is, and beyond all human understandingFor nothing was withheld, and more cannot be askedA love that shines it blinding light within the darkness’sShall lead the way and I had ought to  follow  in its path For who can fathom this love, that was given to this woman Written October 10th, 2001 © on Oct 28 2001 03:28 PM PST   18 • 8 • 13
