The Waves
The waves lap my feet playfully Leaving a design of white foam around my ankles I am enticed and i accept their invitation I wade knee high through the sea of blue crystal And giggle as the green fur of the rocks tickles my feet. The waves now encircle my waist And i lose my balance Laughing , i plunge head first Into perfection , into happiness But, as i break the surface The waves encirle my head no longer playful but intimidating No longer enticing but menacing And they suck me down Into their pit of darkness Only to release me for a glimpse of beauty And drag me under once more Fear has caught my breath and held it ; My tears are mingled with the ocean of despair And i am entertwined with death , Struggling for my last breath .i think its a bit long winded :) Written January 31st, 2002 © on Jan 31 2002 09:52 AM PST 0 • 1
