Fly Away
Somewhere in Eden she sits alone thinking of me, sweet memories. I hope she still remembers my name; She smiles in my mind like it was yesterday. I hope it's what she wants and I hope she's doing well and If she's not then please don't tell me, 'cuz I don't want to know. She wasn't like the others that fell the way she did; There was a spark that made us surrender when we noticed her. And if my prayers could change yesterday, I would pray every single day That she find the will and the strength to fly away. Lost in thought, I turn away. A day doesn't pass that I don't look back and I don't feel sad. I can't shake the feeling that she died, Maybe physically, but for sure inside. Still, I dream that I'll meet her Perhaps at the theatre. God, how she loved an audience. It hurts to think that she could lose that. And we hold out hope, though we're sure that it's all in vain. I'm getting used to disappointment and I guess I knew she was just the same. And if my prayers could change yesterday, I would pray every single day That she find the will and the strength to fly away. And if I could tell her one thing, it would be how she changed my life forever. Her self-esteem wouldn't let her see how beautiful she was inside, her noble heart and a sense of pride... And if my prayers could change yesterday, I would pray every single day That she find the will and the strength To fly away. Written November 30th, 2001 © on Jan 08 2002 07:45 AM PST 20 • 0 • 1
