I Can't Wait
If I had had the nerve I would have held your hand, I would have kissed you until you melted. Nonetheless, tonight was beautiful. Almost as beautiful as the girl in my head. Almost as beautiful as you. Did you notice that I drove all the way home in the slow lane? I did not want tonight to end. I did not want to say goodnight. Now I'm home and I'm wishing that I had told you how I felt. But I think you know. The next time that I see you, I will hold your hand. I will kiss your lips until they tingle. I will fall asleep with your head on my chest. I will wake up and see you smiling in your sleep. I can't wait.I don't even care about the poetry. Tonight was poetry. My life is poetry.
