Ride the course The straight and narrow Meager sailors are we now On the mighty ocean at dusk Who knows what we'll be On the break of the morrow Ride the course The straight and narrow Timid sailors are we now Who are we to deviate From the unbending line laid before us Into an ocean vast Ride the course The straight and narrow Intrepid sailors are we now None have come before us And none dare to follow Ride the course The straight and narrow Desperate sailors are we now Let free the dove And man the crow's nest Trust the tub in which we float To stave off fear of the abyss Ride the course The straight and narrow Hopeful sailors are we now Port lies just beyond the waves Rum and rowdiness await us A thousand exploits sit on our tonguesthe line "Who knows what we'll be" (5) could also be "Who knows where we'll be"... and no, i don't know why i wrote this...
