A monument to nature's power Standing high and proud Like an iron tower Its limbs cloaked in an emerald shroud The mighty tree stands with a watchful eye A history lies within its trunk so grand Only viewed by strong of will and sweat of hand A tale so intricately wound Wove in rings so tightly bound The mighty tree stands with a watchful eye Without eyes, it has seen so many things A million deer and a splendor of wings A hundred winters and countless wonders It has survived when it is cold & when it thunders The mighty tree stands with a watchful eye It has given much to the world around it A page in a book filled with words A kindling on the fire lit A home for squirrels and birds The once mighty tree stood with a watchful eyeanother poem that was written a while ago...
