A washed-out blue sky blanketing a snow covered parking lot. Jonathan Livingston Seagull, solitary. The welcoming committee. The wind blows snow fairies in the air. London Towers pierce the clouds, poking God in the eye. The train bridge stands guard on the canal. In silence. Powered sugar laden trees and bushes bending with their confectioner join the ground. Dissolving, blending, mixing, freezing, water and ice. In silence. Bird and human footprints join each other on the path. Interlacing. Ice-crunched footsteps reverberate. Echoing, resounding down the walkway. A tugboat drags its burden through the gray calm waters. Slicing the surface forming Pollack-like patterns. Breaking the silence. I stand. The snow-fairies brush my face. Whisper, than vanish. I wait for an answer. I wait for the silence. These are just images I saw as walked the Cape Cod Canel on a Winter's day. This is the first thing I have written in awhile. Let me know what you think. Written January 9th, 2002 © on Jan 09 2002 05:39 AM PST 0 • 10
