Lost
By thespin
A mist hangs over the icy waters. A fog horn echoes in the distance. Lost in time and space. Where are you? Where have I lost you? Once we were friends. We touched each other. Made each other live. The mist rolls in. Inch by inch. Covering the surface. Two ships lost in the fog. I can feel you are here. Here, in the early morning air. Here, in the stillness of the waters. Here, among the rocks and waves. You are alive. I can see you. See you in the rotting wood pilings. In the old wharf. I can hear you. Hear you in the screeching of the gulls. The pulling of the pebbles against the sand. The swaying of the trees. You are here. Why can't I find you again? Something has died between us. It was me. The time we had together is gone. Gone with the tide. It takes two to love. To feel. To know the oneness. The fog has engulfed me. A bell resounds. Beckoning. A distance voice echoes. Lost in the mist of Me. It grows smaller and smaller. Vanishing into the past. Never to live again. Written October 25th, 2001 © on Oct 25 2001 08:58 AM PST 0 • 8
