Playground
By thespin
Gone are the children. No more laughter. No shouts of joy. Empty playground. Concrete animals. Still. Lifeless. Alone. Giraffes. Kangaroos. Ducks. Elephants and birds. All waiting. The animals speak. "Where are the children?" The frog wants to jump. The giraffe stretches its neck looking. The duck quacks. "How long to we have to wait? How long?" They sing sweet songs. They are calling the children. The elephant bellows. "Wait. They will return." The birds chirp. "They are coming. Listen. They are coming." They all shout. "WE SHALL LIVE AGAIN!"
