walking alone across plains of despair leaving footprints bloodied on shards of dreams broken there cloaked in ragged cares of wasted time when life seemed to circle 'round forging lead hours molded into dead years then darkest fears pool before eyes filled with tears black waters pull down long before you're aware that you could drown in depths of sadness for all things that might have been never were anymore important now than they were then jagged mountain peaks thrown up in hurt's way from my heart's earthquaking when chance led love astray slashed by abyss and chasms breaking granite shelves where now only ice lives with room for little else choose your path of travel through death's desert door walk through it only one time know a soul's all that's left but this devil's seeking more see my silvered tears as i look to the sky in these rainbowed places where i've come to die if gods live above me send your cleansing fire bolts of lightning to rend this heart that desires to find only love all the while with this feeling i look up one last time to see vulture's wheeling wings shading sunlight a voice speaks like thunder as sharp beaks tear last sight from cold eyes glazing over staring into death's night and the wind on the prairies continued to blow leaving only bleached bones in moonlight's soft glow crying into the shadows i loved you soall comments and critiques welcomed Written February 24th, 2002 © on Feb 23 2002 03:36 PM PST   18 • 0 • 1
