A Trilogy of Inner Terrors - Part I
By tigerlilly
Part I Wild animal soul, feeling cornered, trapped. Heart lies pressed against the bony bars of this CAGE, which represents... a BODY failing. ME! Of all people, but then why not me? I am only one of many who liked to run, roaming free... making no consessions to aches and pains... till stopped, dead... almost; by the sudden blow, so unexpected, undetected. (Mercy would have been the killing... but, not so.) My world seen now through wire-meshed window in this cell of cautions, here and there, till not one space is free of someone saying NO! The eyes that WATCH you daily, (passing... always passing through), like vistiors at the zoo... for signs, for new symptoms. Close the gates! Go away... why stand looking while pain tears with jagged teeth, the edges of my life. Trapped. Written February 27th, 2002 © on Feb 27 2002 11:57 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
