March
By tigerlilly
March tiptoed through the garden, I saw his footprints there… In heart-shaped leaves of violets Unfolding by the stair. He’s walked about on woodland trails, Greening moss in emerald patches. He’s climbed the trees and painted buds On oak and willow branches. His fingers brushed the briar rose, Swelling life in canes appears… With promises of pink bouquets, As nurturing rains draw near. Called up from dark-loamed roots, I see silver-green lamb’s ears. The tips just clearing winter mulch, No more snows to fear. Pansies smiled and nodded, As march came strolling through. Tulips bowed to daffodils, They were encouraged, too. Surrounded by the stirrings Of my awakening plants, I feel the spell of coming spring As nearby birdsong enchants.all comments and critiques welcomed... :) Spring is on it's way, hooray!
