Sidewinder Rattler (Challenge Submission)
By tigerlilly
Crotalus cerastes, Sidewinder snake... so named for the S-curve I'm prone to make; as my body moves across burning sands... carving these grooves, in my native lands. Nicknamed Horned Rattler, for scales pointed, upturned, just one more scare tactic... in my instincts burned. Nightfall will find me, near rodent burrows... approaching my prey, plowing sinuous furrows. As far as snakes go... guess i'm doing all right, carving my name... through each desert night.all comments and critiques welcomed :) Written February 20th, 2002 © on Feb 20 2002 10:07 AM PST 0 • 10
