Snake Oil

It is a fact, ladies and gentlemen... that history has been most unkind in it's view of ~sssnakes.  "~Sssnake in the grass", now is that not a spirit of brassss, I ask? Just because one of our ancessstors had a little investment in apples at an exclusive garden site ~ ~ ~ Well, you would think the transssaction had come straight up from the Devil himssself! Ssserpents are most beautiful if you would just look at at usss in the proper light. We even go to sleep all winter, staying out of sight. Of course we have our venom, but then so do all of you...I'm down here where the dirt is, where the gossips coming through. And "crooked as a ~sssnake", you've heard it said, confess...I asssure you we are merely being sssinuous like the letter "SSS". Smacked with baseball bats, garden hoes, now do you think that's fair?  You are ever so much bigger, just mind your feet and don't step there!  We are handy helpers in the garden and the home...where my family'sss sleeping, rats are careful where they roam.  And just think of all the insects that are munching through your lawn...with our tiny little cousin'sss, your problems soon will be all gone.  So if you're walking through the fields and my relative you see; step back and ponder just how hard this creaturesss life must be... misssunderstood rejected the bad guy in the plot, a ~sssnakes the most e x t r a ordinary creature... God ever misssbegot!comments and critiques welcomed :) Written February 7th, 2002 © on Feb 07 2002 11:06 AM PST   0 • 14
