waiting in the wings

By tigerlilly

as children, we didn't know the games each other played... or the box-top matinee's we sat through on saturdays. and though we learned some lessons as we went to school, we grew up making choices that made us wear the hat of fools. you wed the girl next door, so very many years ago... i said i do to someone too, because you... i didn't know. we raised our families, and thought for me, it's way too late... but we didn't count on magic, or a simple twist of fate. an angel must have nudged another, and said "...just look down there," a lonely man, a weeping woman... needing hope, some love, a prayer. on an avenue between our worlds, past all ordinary things we were introduced by the angels... just waiting in the wings.all comments and critiques welcomed Written January 20th, 2002 © on Jan 19 2002 11:39 PM PST   10 • 0 • 8
