morning brings first snowfall still so new and white soft down plucked from sky geese fresh-fallen through the night contented Mother Earth's breasts once chilled by winter's cold clothed now in a white gown hills and valleys to enfold faithful Ice King taking pity has gifted her with cover consumating nuptuals as this season's lover graceful swells and contours her body once more celebrated she'd lain so long in nakedness wondering why he'd waited she'd cried so with her longing 'till he heard her plaintif wail rewarding then by sending snowflakes ending her travail against the sky bare trees set the boundaries of their bower while white burdened evergreens canopied the wedding hour still in darkest night he played up all her tender features with trailing kisses evidenced in paw-prints of night creatures her bright anticipation reflected in her lover's eyes wind songs poured soft into his ears Earth's whited virgin sighs with like voice the Ice King genltly soothed away her fears vowing promises of snowfalls forever through the coming years yielding then to sweet adoring season's circle a wedding ring all his moisture she's absorbing Mother Earth's conceiving Springall comments and critiques welcomed Written February 6th, 2002 © on Feb 06 2002 02:50 AM PST   0 • 8
