Love Without Expression Cannot Press On

By Timothy Cameron

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Draw closer to feel love as water, For it can take your heat & give you warmth, As it retreats from trust to touch by thrust (slow down), Yet envelopes the aching advance. Feel love as fire, Silhouettes of steam well-up from Martian ballets, Formidable cremation, moment lost upon moment (hurry up), as Flames lick breezes, freeing ancient timeless doors once welded. Breath deep love as air, RESTLESS tender loins scented as the weepiest willows, Fanning tickles from songbirds’ feet, motioning the trees foliage (wait), No tempest ever blew stronger, than the patient mercy of a sigh. Anticipate earth as love (you did), Some abodes are best laid upon the Paroxysm’s foundation, Formed solid to move and quake apart in trembling obedience (don’t wait, please but don’t hurry, while you’re at it yesterday, now, ok?) Conflicting instructions? Or just ecstacy? Only a drunk can walk a straight line during an earthquake. Was it a journey, a dream, or merely a blanket of desire? Or none of the above? :) Written November 20th, 2001 © on Nov 20 2001 01:13 PM PST, Timothy G Cameron    0 • 8
