Rest on the Wintered Hedge
THEY fixed their eyes over distant hills, And searched the secluded hue. Even fading sunlight spills, Toward self-determination with you. Her waiting, it puts its feet up, feeling itself, Thus we cleave to as true. She feels wholly whom she’ll see, Longing a heart brand new. This shaded feeling sprawls humble shine, Brilliantly stable, so still a dignified pride. Her honor gathers a seal clad so fine, White garments tender to be a bride. Pictures posing, unknowingly she knows, Stark vibrant light within those eyes. Wills’ quandary unites two sparkling bows, And grants fervor our purest prize. Loves’ banner, it ripples far above the ground, Cause these bannered words make clear. We’ll forget that old thorny sky, so Draw the mask low, dry the tired tear. Forlorn trust had Noah’s dove, Though caged crying for moonlit wings. Please whispered wings beat sweetly, this wintered love, Move intrepidly these, our frozen dreams.I wrote this when I was young.
