Train Ride
By TractorMan
I stood next to it With great anticipation Little black and gold 482 Was stopped at the station Passengers were boarding All with a smile The old iron horse was classy Our trip would be in style With a conductor’s whistle And lots of commotion The train crept forward Slowly in motion Wheels were spinning Before they got a grip Waving to the locals We began our trip High in the Rockies Feeling the autumn breeze Leaves turning to gold On whitened Aspen trees Through rocky gorges And up pine-treed hills Taking lots of pictures Soaking in the thrills Pulling into the station Right around noon We eat a hearty western lunch And none too soon Back on the train For our trip back down I can hardly wait For the next time around Written November 8th, 2001 © on Nov 07 2001 11:07 PM PST 0 • 10
