I Know

By Tramp Poet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I Know I have known the despair of losing one’s child. The hopelessness, the anguish the inability to act. I have known the pain of being homeless. The possession of a key seemingly out of reach. I have known suffering teeth falling from ones mouth. Bones broken and never set not a dime to spare. I have known hatred being attacked for appearance. Singled out for abuse because one was different. I have known evil as it lied, coaxed me. Tempting with dreams laughing with defeat. I have known poverty no clothes, no food. Nothing left but despair I know of these things. And through it all... I know in my knower; that in God’s eyes I am precious.
