My White Stallion
Up in the morning At the crack of dawn Alarm going off It’s life down on the farm Down to the barn My white stallion and me Getting ready for work Thank God it’s Friday I saddle him up Settle into the seat Of my blue velvet perch At the wheel of my steed Off we go down the drive At a snails pace at first Cars they screech past As we head off to work Down the road to the highway He goes at a canter My white stallion takes care Not to scare at the banter Tho not many cars pass us by He watches with a close eye……….. Off on the highway he strains at the reigns Taking off with a pace I can hardly restrain It seems my white stallion can’t wait to arrive But I know he is only keeping up with the drive Maybe he feels just like me…... The need to run to feel free…. Now I sit at my window Looking out at my horse My white stallion awaits He knows he is my source Of escape at the end of the day… He looks back as if he seems to say…. “I can’t wait till you come and sit on my back And hold onto the freedom your think your life lacks…. I’ll wait here for the ride home…….. A few more hours and we’ll be gone…….
