Why Should I Believe in You?

By Wallflower

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Here I am upon my kneesBefore I lay me down to sleepI pray to you, God, to make this feeling stopThe pain and sadness makes me lonely a lot. Before I cry myself to sleepSometimes I pray my soul to keepWhatever makes my crying stopWill make my level of loneliness drop. If, my Lord, this does not work,Tell me why you cause this hurt?Is it because I don't attend your church?Or perhaps because of my religious search? Why should I believe in youIf you only make me sad and blue?If you tell me your holy truth,It will help me to believe in you. What do you think?
