A New Beginning

By Walter Burns

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The veil is thinning Night is gone A new beginning The coming dawn Then so suddenly on the rise I see autumns auburn eyes Where the heavens and earth embrace They touch so gently upon her face She is the fire That's claiming me Newborn desire This flaming tree Silence is broken Throughout the land All are awoken By her hand As she ascends from on the hill Each dying flower meets her will And every time she walks this way They all shall live another day How do I know She won't miss me For I still grow Apart of this tree As she fades My tear stained eyes Follow the glades Where the river lies On the horizon a wondrous sight A lonely lover lights up the night Trust in feelings not the mind For all along we've been so blind To share the sun Emboldens me To make as one Our golden tree Written January 28th, 2002 © on Jan 28 2002 02:20 PM PST   0 • 10
