No Loss of Grace

By Walter Burns

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

There will be such atrocities in every age of man, for deprivation and its force fight ‘gainst Almighty plan. Horrors of the day we clash until an ease is found. This our feet shall ever trod on Deceiver’s mortal ground. ‘fore the flood and famine taketh all that we have sown. A fear of shortage in our breath our paths not yet be known. We have fled from trails we forged when the way was thick. But seems that when our sight is gone our past is on us quick. Let us not be preyed upon as Wolf with spectral eyes has a feast on others souls of which he recognized. Pastures filled with holy souls who take up ‘gainst the fight. Know they shall be preyed upon yet prevail through their might. Slaughter shall find way of flock and some may fall away. But never will they lose their grace with Shepherd in their stay. Loss of faith the Wolves mad cry shall fleece the flock at night. But lo there is no business here for we have our Savior’s light! Written June 24th, 2001 © on Jun 24 2001 01:42 PM PST   0 • 12
