Liquid Love

By Walter Burns

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Pour me-sip me-I am your liquid love And I-would hold-a glass to taste you, pureWe could-fuse our-souls into a love song If you-would not-think of it as too strongI would like to drink you; I would like to feel youI know time waits that we may grow matureOur love is like the finest of liqueursI wait forever. Even if it's never. That you would turn your eyes and look to meIf I had your heart our kiss could then be sharedLike soul mates holding bonds of secrecySoftly swirl me on your tongue and swallowPour me sip me I am your liquid loveI want to be in your heart and working thereThat you would want more of me foreverPour me-sip me-I am your liquid loveLet’s make-our love-into a work of artDrink me-I feel-love that’s unrequitedYour tongue-our bed-now I turn excitedThe moon, full of honey, so then it must beDistance drives our love to be apartYou have liquid loving in my heartHold me-down me-I must be consumed nowOur love-mixes-makes a potent blendingWhat you-don’t drink-save for there’s tomorrowThen we-will pour-love that’s never endingSoftly swirl me on your tongue and swallowPour me sip me I am your liquid loveI want to be in your heart and working thereThat you would want more of me forever Written September 5th, 2001 © on Sep 05 2001 01:27 PM PST   0 • 8
