Runaway

By Walter Burns

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I'm not coming back this time You can't make me see the light You may think that you are right But I've stepped into the night Cannot reach me in your bed Cannot teach me, I am dead I have found the friends I seek Cold and dark and I am weak Saw myself inside a star Wonder Wonder where you are Saw myself I'm falling fast Someone wished it wouldn't last Maybe I could turn back now But I will not milk that cow Now I've left and I am gone Do not know the road I'm on Someone Someone what to do Someone Someone be like you Someone Someone save my soul Someone Someone make me whole The record spins in this street Connecting veins in my feet Doubt is clouding in my mind Now it’s raining on my shine But its dark and I can't see Wishing you were more like me No one likes to show you how Do the things you do yourself Begin... I do not know how to go It’s too late to go back home  Within... Saw myself I'm falling fast Someone wished it wouldn't last Who wins? Who wins? Who wins?
