Dream

By wanderingpoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I dreamt of you this morn Sitting there by your computer And I was just watching… Just watching… We were sitting outside the sunlight Simply staring out into the distance What were we seeing? What were we seeing? I turned to gaze into your eyes Only to seem them turned away at the pivotal moment And I just have to wonder To wonder… We were walking along the empty highway Two different sides along blackened rivers of char Why were we so far? Why were we so far? Seemingly lovers by trade And yet it felt as if the skies could pick you up And the darkness carried me home Carried me home… I hear sweet tunes in my ears And look around to see you… But you were not there… You were not there… So I slowly stirred from my slumber Looked over to the plastic and silicon demon next to me… Yet the simple fact remains… You are still not here…Just a dream I had this morning...
