'go to sleep!'
I’m trying to Or maybe not For life is full of Beauty for which is sought Poetry and prose Tickle my mind As heavy gusts of fan And blades, impacted and resigned. Kind light and gentle sets Weld from passing molecules, Appear before exhausted hearts For leak, and break to repair the tools To stare at a fabric Of sleep’s deep desire Yet in twinkling continuousness Ideas and plots do inspire Simplest urges and reckless ideals Held waving and gasped and tossed to the fields Fearful for the mind’s eye Closed in rest, shall it be lost unsealed Times and words thrown Aside and sundered from peace Break forth from dew Within it thundered from east “Go to sleep” Demanded the master and host Yet obey I naught can Only to raise this toast “To life To Love Shall sweet embrace hold I shall sleep I shall dream After all tales have been told” Written March 1st, 2002 © on Mar 01 2002 06:45 AM PST 0 • 10
