Oh, Lover

By wanderingpoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The poisoned little pill slips down your throat Digesting slowly within acid confines… With no rhyme Very little reason Oh, lover, can’t you see the rage? Oh, lover, can’t you see the pain? Oh, lover, can’t you see the anger? Oh, lover, can’t you see the rain? The burning liquid rushes down your mind Brining infected blood through your pores One little shot… One less moment… Oh, lover, can’t you see the core? Oh, lover, can’t you see the tears? Oh, lover, can’t you see the frustration? Oh, lover, can’t you see the fears? The leaves burn into cinders Filling lungs with piercing smoke One more hit… One more shot… Oh, lover, Can’t you feel the darkness? Oh, lover, Can’t you see the cult? Oh, lover, can’t you look within yourself? Oh, lover, can’t you see the fault? The anger permeates through your bones Held in place with unbreakable doors No keys in sight No hinges within… Oh, lover can’t you see the worry? Oh, lover can’t you see the anguish? Oh, lover can’t you see the crimson? Oh, lover, can’t you see him languish? The hammer clicks into place Bringing finality within Her soul… Death of flesh is naught… Death of hope rings eternal… Oh, lover, can’t you see the ruin? Oh, lover, can’t you see you’re Seth? Oh, lover can’t you see the running? Oh, lover, can’t you see your death? This one just came out in jumble, so I organized it some what. Written April 1st, 2002 © on Apr 01 2002 08:13 AM PST   0 • 1
