Single Rose
Single Rose dropped on the floor. given by a hope, trying to open the door. placed, to be sure, very fine hopes indeed... Held by a wish Hoping to succeed. Spread out by a love that blooms from afar Held close to his heartas he watches from the door... Time crawls on... The watcher continues to glare... The clock clicks by... The poet simply stares... His inspiration walks by... Eyes the flower with thought... Picks up her posessions... The flower, yet naught... The watcher watched As hope faded away thy inpiration departed As his feelings couldn't say... Yet the dust settles... Silent to thine ear... Thy rose lies on the floor... As his heart sheads a tear...This was written back in my high school, so it's not exactly up to the level of word usage that I'm capable of now. But it still remains as one of my favorate poems, mostly becasue the end is entirely fiction and it was one of those times in my life I couldn't be more happy to be wrong. :) Written March 4th, 2002 © on Mar 04 2002 03:59 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
