We were once...

By wanderingpoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

We were once like a song Flowing, floating, it’s power intact Our words flying through the wind With twinges of chords And the drums of our hearts We were once an original Placing the track in the player Hearing the fullness of our passion Feeling the entirety of our love We were once an opera Unknown words un-understood Yet music flowed through our veins Telling the tale of our magic We were once like a song... Direct from the recorder And now… Why do we feel like a radio? All the words understood Yet cut and torn… The main message is there… But it just… lacks… We switched on the stereo Cut down our music as to fit the time frame And now we lost our souls to the conformity Moved our passions from the endless night To the pacing day… We were once a golden record Now turned into a common song… And I just miss singing with you… Written April 5th, 2002 © on Apr 05 2002 04:53 AM PST   18 • 0 • 1
