(Revised) 'When the Shadows Fall'
By WindDancer J
“When the Shadows Fall” When the shadows fall. My life will come to an end. Anthrax, smallpox and others they’ll send. The battles rage on, just as it was predicted. I see the fear, destruction, and horrors being inflicted. J’had they call it. A pretty word, for senseless murder I say. In a whisper it’s a prayer, in a shout, it’s like praise. I fear the sunrises and sunsets, shall never be the same. After the body count is completed and they list familiar names. Man still in his infancy can not image what the future holds. That decisions made today, could leave our children in the cold. Will we be proud of the future we create for our children? Will we be proud of the outcome of all our decision? Alas, the dawn breaks over the horizon and I sit and wonder. Will this be the day when destruction comes to my door? Will this be the day when the Shadows all fall?I'm not interested in the star system, just want to know what you thought of the meaning and how I structured the poem.
