Hiding behind hollow laughter Mouth smiling with empty eyes A whirlwind of emotions Never heard a sigh All that’s seen on the outside Nothing but a tangle of lies Hiding behind gentleness Listening but not hearing Struggling with your weaknesses Your emotions searing How long can this go on? This battle that rages inside Just who are you? Why do you continue to hide? Searching for yourself Your strength that you know is there Buried beneath the confusion Pretending you don’t care Your time is running out You hear the ticking within As you wasted time hiding That beautiful inside, it’s a sin Who will remember you?
